Driving Forward the Construction Industry’s Digital Transformation
2020: A unique set of circumstances
Last year presented a unique set of circumstances that challenged the industry like never before. Despite these challenges our team worked exceptionally hard and we have seen real growth, innovation and exciting new developments across our business.
When the country went into lockdown, our teams worked hard to rapidly develop, test and deploy a range of Access Control solutions to allow sites to remain safe and operational which included Facial Recognition, rapid deploy turnstiles and switching sites to swipe card access. Finally, we also worked to deploy an access management solution for the Nightingale hospitals in London, Manchester and Glasgow, deploying solutions in 48 hours.
These challenges saw the launch of our contact tracing solution, DataTrace, which is now mandated on all data centre builds for a major technology corporation.
Further Global Expansion
DataScope now has over 60 live projects across Europe, The Americas and APAC seeing DataTouch & Collaborative Planning Systems go live on projects across the UK, Europe and now the US.
We have subsequently invested in R&D and are seeing exciting developments across the business including a Crane Booking System We have also seen our logistics system go live for flagship clients such as Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital Trust and 2 major UK airports.
“Our agile approach to software development gives us the flexibility to adapt our products and services to the changing circumstances.” Adrian Butt, Managing Director
2021: A Unique Year Ahead
With the third lockdown now actioned in the UK as well as a long economic recovery ahead, we will continue to innovate and support the Construction Industry’s betterment of digital tools, moving towards leaner, more productive builds for the future.
There is a ‘new normal’ to the way we work across the construction industry but our agile approach to software development and experienced development team continues to give us the flexibility to adapt our products and services to the changing circumstances.
2021 will see DataScope work to provide greater cross project control of data, management and operatives, all secured by a digital audit trail. We hope to work with our new and existing customers to further digitise processes: where once attendance had to be physical, Inductions and DABS meetings can now be digital. Permits can be now be submitted and approved from smartphones and briefings sent out instantly to operatives.
Digital Planning
At the forefront our development plans is our Collaborative Planning System: an advanced construction project management tool that drives collaboration across projects and trades by allowing teams to create and actively manage advance lookaheads of projects. Continued development will cement further integrations with our wider systems creating an all-encompassing management system capable of amplifying collaboration, communication and productivity across projects.
During first quarter of 2021 we will launch our first DataTouch Web solution, immensely extending the flexibility and remote working capability of our solution. DataTouch Web will also be integrated into our Collaborative Planning UI to offer a solution of ultimate flexibility never seen before. We are now linking even more solutions into Collaborative Planning including: Delivery Management, Permits, RAMS, Site Diary, Crane and Hoist Booker and Riser Management.
A vast amount of development work in the pipeline for the year ahead as DataScope enters its next phase of growth.
